What’s happening and what should I expect?

This year, Freshman and Transfer students will complete their 2020 New Knight Virtual Experience. Although Orientation experience will be completed virtually, you are expected to still be available for the entirety of your Orientation date/program. Students may have different requirements throughout the day depending on their major/college.

You must register and pay for an Orientation session date on our website if you have not done so already: https://orientation.ucf.edu/about/cost/

The 3-part mandatory Orientation includes:
  • Orientation Modules: Hosted through UCF’s learning management system, WebCourses@UCF.  This is your opportunity to learn all the essentials of what it is like to be a student here at UCF. Learn more about accessing the Orientation Modules here.  Everything must be done at least 24 hours in advance. The Orientation Modules has 2 parts:
      • Part 1: Information about the University of Central Florida
      • Part 2: Information about your specific college and pre-advising information. Many Colleges will provide you access to their pre-advising Orientation content 10 days before your Orientation date.

Please note, 2020 Transfer Students are required to complete two Orientation Modules (1.) Transfer Virtual Orientation (2.) Transfer Orientation Advising.

  • Advising and Course Registration: Our advising community is excited to work with you this summer! After you complete your Orientation modules and review your academic content, you are required to attend an advising/schedule planning session with your Academic College. On the date of your designated Orientation, you will meet, virtually, with an advisor. Access information will be provided after completing your academic overview content within your Orientation Modules.
      • Part 3: You will submit a final completion form once you have completed advising/schedule planning with your Academic College.
  • You will be directed to participate in the Pegasus e-Preview sessions in Webcourses where you can connect with others, learn more about the resources that are available to you as a student, and have your questions answered. This will include small groups with O-Team (Orientation Leaders), Q & A sessions, and an opportunity to connect with campus resources. A summary of what to expect is below, but specific dates for your Orientation can be found in the drop-down menus at the bottom of the page. Links to access these resources are included in your Orientation Webcourse.
        • Zoom Support Line: Hitting a roadblock during your Orientation session? FYE is here to help answer your orientation questions as well as provide general support during your experience.
        • Virtual Campus Resource Fair: Connect with campus resources and ask questions that you would like answered. You can find access links through your Orientation modules. You will have the opportunity to connect with…
