Going to college is a big step that carries lots of questions. Orientation provides you answers about college life, while pointing you to UCF specific resources that can help along the way.
UCF Orientation Process
Orientation follows a three-step process, each of which must be completed to satisfy your UCF Orientation requirements. We’ll walk you through each one, starting with your New Student Task List.
Pre-Orientation
After reserving your in-person Orientation date, complete your Pre-Orientation no less than three days before your in-person Orientation.
Some of the Pre-Orientation requirements include:
- Math Placement Test
- Chemistry Placement Test
- Immunizations & Health History Records
- Expected Credit Evaluation (ECE)
Orientation
Attend an in-person Orientation session and register for classes.
Post-Orientation
After attending, complete your Post-Orientation checklist.

Orientation Reservations
Once reservations are open:
If you are receiving an error message while creating your Orientation account, it could be because of one of several reasons, or a combination of them:
- You might have recently been offered admission to the university and our Orientation database has not yet been updated with your information. this process can take up to two (2) business days following your admission notice and is done automatically.
- You might not have submitted your enrollment deposit yet. To confirm your acceptance to the university, all First Time in College (FTIC) students are required to submit an enrollment deposit of $200 through their Future Knights portal. Transfer students do not submit an enrollment deposit.
- You might have been admitted for a previous semester. If you were offered admission to the university for a semester that is not Spring 2025, and either did not enroll in classes or attend classes, you will have to reapply to the University of Central Florida for a new term. For more information, reach out to Undergraduate Admissions at (844) 376-9160.
If none of these apply to you, please reach out to our office so we can further assist and troubleshoot. You are more than welcome to reach out to our office via phone (407-823-5105) or email (fye@ucf.edu).
Once reservations open, you will have access to a Task List.
If you ever have questions about what you need to do before your Orientation session, you can always refer to your Task List, which you can access once you create your Orientation account. Your task list is a list of action items that you need to complete as a new student at the university. These items must be completed BEFORE you select an Orientation date:
- TASK 01: Access your UCF email
- TASK 02: Contact Information
- TASK 03: Acknowledge that you will submit Immunization Records (these don’t need to be submitted before you make a reservation, but you must acknowledge you understand they must be submitted before your actual Orientation date!)
- TASK 04: Acknowledge that you will finalize Your Admissions File (final documents don’t need to be submitted before you make a reservation, but you must acknowledge you understand they must be submitted before your actual Orientation date!)
Once reservations open, we strongly encourage students to sign up for the earliest Orientation session that works for them! It is important to note that our reservation system is set up to only show students the Orientation dates that are applicable to them based on their term of entry, their student type, and other student data related to admissions status.
Additionally, and once reservation open, FYE will continue releasing Orientation dates on a rolling basis based on demand. We encourage you to reach out to our office via phone (407-823-5105) or email (fye@ucf.edu) if you have any additional questions or concerns pertaining to dates and date selection. As Orientation is mandatory and only offered on certain days, it is important to resolve any issues as soon as possible.

Pre-Orientation
If they are having issues logging in, make sure you have done the following:
- Created a STUDENT account
- Manually typed in your UCFID (not copying and pasting)
- Used your UCF email account (the one ending in @ucf.edu) to log in
- If password related: you can reset it and the email will be sent to your UCF email account.
If you need any additional help, feel free to reach out to our office via phone (407-823-5105) or email (fye@ucf.edu) – we are happy to help!
When you log into your Orientation reservation, you will see your Task List. Once you have completed your Orientation reservation (including submitting payment), your Task List will unlock a task related to Pre-Orientation. This task will have the link to access your Pre-Orientation.
Please make sure to select STUDENT on the login page and then use your UCFID and UCF email (the one ending in @ucf.edu) to finish the process. If you are having any issues with your UCFID, make sure you are manually typing in the numbers rather than using copy/paste. You can then used your preferred name when creating an account.
Please note: your Pre-Orientation account is separate from your Orientation reservation, as well as myUCF.

IMPORTANT: This must be completed at least three (3) business days before a student’s scheduled in-person Orientation date. Failure to complete Pre-Orientation in a timely manner prior to Orientation may result in needing to reschedule.
